Handling the Evergreen State Proof Seated Dime Collection has been an eye opening experience even for this seasoned researcher and cataloger. Case in point is the 1873 proof issue with 800 produced. When reviewing the CAC census, the low number stickered suggests that premium survivors are very challenging to locate most likely due to mint workmanship issues. This lot is noted for its very thick wire rims and mirrored fields that exhibit a soft granular texture during 10x inspection. Under a bright light, the mirrors are sufficiently brilliant against the frosted motifs. Copper-gold toning is noted on the left obverse and fully encompassing the reverse borders. This near-gem is fairly reserved for its scarcity. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.0 (2015-2020) holder.
