Choice $1300 Gorgeous Bullseye Toning, Brilliant Frosted Luster, Near-Gem Original, Wicker Park Collection. By 1895, New Orleans Barber quarter mintage had begun to recede with only 2,816,000 struck and Mint State examples garnering elevated premiums. I'm a fan of original toning with this example being both beautiful and exhibiting steely-frosted luster. This lot offers moderate bullseye toning with center obverse rose surrounded by a rich aquamarine ring. The reverse is similarly toned with purple center hues and a bit less delineation between center and edge. The strike is boldly executed on both sides with sharp wingtips and tail feathers. GFRC images accurately illustrate the coloration and well preserved surfaces. The PCGS Price guide is $2,050 as reference. Housed in newer NGC holder with edge view insert.
