$6950 		Rare New Orleans Date, Strongly Detailed, Important Opportunity. One of the most challenging dates in the Liberty Seated dime series, other than the 1871 through 1874 Carson City issues, is the 1860-O. The tiny mintage of 40,000 pieces mostly found their way into southern Confederate commerce with many recovered from Civil War battleground sites. This important example appeared at the 2025 Oklahoma City ANA show and originates from a well advanced New Orleans centric collection. A strongly detailed example with essentially unabraded surfaces. Both sides are toned a light gray with some brownish hues. The overall eye appeal is quite pleasing. Housed in a PCGS Gen 6.1 (2020-2025) holder. A CAC attempt was made but not approved.
