One does not often see the MS60 grade employed in present day grading, though this designation was common in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The 1862 Philadelphia half dollar issue is recognized in the Seated community as a better date. This example presents partially mirrored fields and moderate reflectance. The strike is well impressed with high relief motifs. The only explanation seen for the certified grade are wispy hairlines in the right obverse field. Housed in PCGS Gen 3.1 (1993-1998) old green holder. Immediately purchased upon being showcased in the Daily Blog. December 1969
