Consignor Price Reduction - Although the San Francisco Mint struck 56,000 quarters in 1860, none of these coins were initially saved, due to extensive circulation in frontier mining town along with further attrition and melting during the Civil War and the early Reconstruction. Any 1860-S quarter is a rarity today as confirmed by a trip to the CAC census where only 24 are stickered with the majority being at or below the Fine level. This natural coin gray VF example displays strictly original surfaces with moderate wear and is notably problem-free. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.0 (2015-2020) holder. Last sold Heritage July 2023 at $9300 and offered well back of that level. No CAC submission has been made since the Heritage sale.
