Gem $1250 Sparking Frosted Luster, Copper-Gold Patina, Unquestionable Gem, Wicker Park Collection. 1909 brought over nine million Barber quarters struck at the Philadelphia mint. Most survivors are clustered at the MS63 through MS65 grades with a sharp drop-off at superb gem. One of the most notable Wicker Park Collection offerings is this enticing specimen. The radiance falls into the "sparking frosted" realm when viewed under my desk lamp while the cartwheels are vibrant and equally pleasing. Honestly, this coin rocks and is all there at the certified grade. The copper-gold patina "floats" on the surfaces while embedded greens will appear at the proper viewing angles. Surfaces are entirely unabraded as expected at this lofty grade, along with a complete strike being noted. A superior example that has not been submitted to CAC by the consignor or GFRC.
