Gem $12500 Gem Original, Second Finest, Ex. Gardner, Oregon Beaver Collection. This newly released gem 1858-S Seated half, from the Oregon Beaver, is the second finest graded at PCGS. A radiant example that is extremely rare in such a lofty grade. Thick frosty luster sparkles during bright light assessment while the cartwheels are vibrant and impact super eye appeal. Rich golden-orange toning has accents of deeper red, violet, and olive-russet. There are a few tiny marks that help identify this piece as the former Eugene Gardner coin. At the MS64+ grade, PCGS currently lists fair market value at $13,500. This is unquestionably a condition census example of the date that would certainly enhance an already impressive Seated Liberty half dollar collection. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.0 (2015-2020) holder. This half has proven to be difficult to photograph, therefore a check of the PCGS TruView might be in order for those with serious consideration.
