$485 		Weak Base Above 87, Sharp Mirrors Golden Hues, Cleveland Collection. A raw 1879 F-102 proof dime that originates from the Cleveland Collection. The F-102 die pairing is seen in both proof and circulation strikes and is easily attributed by a weakly hubbed based above the 87 digits in the date. This example is unquestionable a proof with sharp wire rims and offers strong mirrors with light gold patination on the obverse and incremental deep aquamarine and blues on the reverse. Under a 10x, the obverse fields are noted as being lightly hairlined, though not offensively so. The PR61 assigned grade is more than fair. December 1969
