We open the latest Cleveland Collection die variety release with this 1837 Large Date F-101c example that warrants consideration for its opening entry into the Top-100 Varieties set. The late die state obverse cracks are thick and crisply defined while the die clashing is bold from a hammered strike. A terminal die state F-101c example that has every clash mark deeply impressed along with those burly die cracks. Original surfaces are steely, as expected, and lightly toned blues and gold with gold being predominant on the reverse. There are a few well hidden contact marks on the reverse of no consequence. I like the old time PCGS Gen 4.4 (2005-2011) holder and the overall eye appeal. The presentation is that of a die hard collector's holdings. December 1969
