GFRC is pleased to be offering a 1926 Sesquicentennial $2.5 gold commemorative that recognizes the 150th anniversary of American independence. The obverse features Liberty holding a scroll representing the Declaration of Independence and the Torch of Freedom. This superb gem is tied for finest known at CAC with a single MS67 graded at PCGS without CAC approval. Rich satiny luster is undisturbed under a bright light and as expected for the lofty certified grade. Coloration is honey green-gold with a touch of rose on the center reverse. Swirling cartwheels are further noted under a bright light. The CAC price guide stands at $9,000 at the MS66 level with a dramatic increase to $50,000 in MS67. The current offer price is consistent with auction records for a CAC approved MS66+. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.0 (2015-2020) holder. December 1969
