This piece is a really cool die variety with rusted obverse die and low upward sloping date. The die rust is nicely illustrated in The Definitive Resource for Liberty Seated Dime Variety Collector online reference as the plate coin with macro imagery. Purchased from Greer during 1993 after this dime was employed as a plate coin within Greer's Guidebook on Seated Dime as published by DLRC Press. Talk about numismatic history! Surfaces are an even light gray with peripheral gold. A perfect plate coin for the date and F-111 die variety that needs to move into a diehard die variety collection. December 1969
