 Gem $3750 Gem Original, Mirror Collection. The 1840s Seated half dime coinage tends to be boldly impressed, and this piece is no exception with design details rising sharply above the fields. Completely detailed stars are elevated from the planchet and surround the figure of Liberty in high relief. The satiny luster is exceptional along with vibrant cartwheel as the coin is tilted under a bright light. This Mirror Collection release is essentially untoned with a hint of gold at the rims. V-4, with the date starting in the rock and sloping down to the right, while the mintmark is small, thick, and nearly circular. The V-4 Small O reverse is a well recognized die variety rarity within the Liberty Seated community.
