Choice $700 Frosted Luster, Vibrant Cartwheels, Choice Original, Sooner Collection. Natural light gray patina is immediately noted with embedded rose and gold on this choice original 1877-S half dollar lot from the Sooner Collection. The toning is transparent to the underlying frosted luster and active cartwheels. Under a bright light, the coloration shifts to a pleasing orange-gold. The overall strike is essentially complete if being fussy about just a touch of weakness at the eagle talons. Though there is no CAC green bean, I've not hesitated to apply a GFRC-Choice original quality rating. Housed in new large font NGC holder.
