 Choice $3500 Challenging New Orleans Date, Hammered Strike, Unquestionably Choice, New Orleans Collection. After purchasing the finest known 1852-O dime from the Gerry Fortin Collection, the New Orleans Collection is releasing this noteworthy duplicate given its low CAC approved census. Only 25 have been stickered in all grades with Mint State examples amounting to slightly more than a handful. This MS62 example presents a hammered strike with every device intricately detailed including bold die chips surrounding stars 3 through 5. The surfaces are frosted with a natural light gray patina on both sides. A 10x inspection found unblemished surfaces with two obverse rim exclusions as made. This lot is worthy of a JUST BUY IT NOW recommendation and certainly belongs in an advanced collection. Housed in PCGS Gen 4.6 (2013-2014) holder with CAC approval.
