 Gem $1850 New March 3! Cameo Designation, Intense Radiance, Gem Original, Evergreen State Collection.. Intensely radiant fields are the highlight of this superb gem 1884 proof dime. The untoned surfaces a hugely brilliant and warrants a sunglass warning for sensitive eyes! The motifs are heavily frosted and are showcased by disparate "dished" fields. The high relief strike is uniform with meticulously impressed devices. A faint line emanating from Liberty's nose is a link mark. There is no explanation for why this lot is not CAC approved other than not being submitted for review. A gorgeous proof strike that deserves careful consideration for type or whatever project that could make use of this gem. Mintage is a reasonable 875 pieces with the date well represented in grades ranging from PR65 to PR67. The reserve has been set well below the PCGS price guide value of $2250.
