Choice $4350 New March 29! Tiny Mintage, Well Preserved, Light Wear, Choice Surfaces, Island Lake Collection. Outside of the 1854 and 1878 Philadelphia issues, the $3 Indian Princess gold series is quite challenging due to a host of lower mintage dates. Take for example the 1882 date with a mintage of 1,500. CAC has approved 36 in all grades with the majority being AU58 and better since this date barely circulated. The Island Collection is releasing a lightly circulated EF45 survivor with amazingly unabraded surfaces for the time in circulation. It is almost a miracle to view the obverse hair curl wear surrounded by pristine fields. The reverse offers a similar presentation. Steely luster remains and is sharp at the borders when viewed with angled lighting. The CAC guide is $4,100 with only two approved at this offered grade followed by four in AU55 with a premium that jumps to $5,750.
