$2450 		New August 23! Near-Gem Original, Lone PCGS 64+, Massachusetts Collection.. The 1850 Seated Liberty dime issue is much scarcer in Mint State than one would expect for a mintage of more than 1.9 million coins. This plus-designated example is the lone so certified at PCGS and reached the market via the Heritage Bender Collection Sale during August 2022 where it realized $2100. This example displays well-struck motifs but is slightly soft on some peripheral stars. Russet and olive toning flecks appear in the peripheries, with ivory luster elsewhere. The CAC date census is 42 with only three finer. Astute collectors should seriously consider adding this near-gem to a Seated dime project given the attractive reserve. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.1 (2020-2025) holder with CAC approval. PCGS #4593.
