$2750 		New August 23! Rare Choice AU, Original, Massachusetts Collection.. The rarity of the 1851-O date at the AU and Mint State levels is finally being understood by the numismatic community. The Liberty Seated Collectors Club and GFRC have been driving forces in raising the awareness. This Massachusetts Collection example returns to the GFRC office after two prior price list appearances. A pleasing specimen with deep gray-aquamarine patina on both sides along with reflective fields during bright light inspection. The obverse fields are substantially mirrored with center rose surrounded by a thin blue arc before shifting to gold at the stars. A later die state example with weakly struck head and center devices as the result of ongoing die maintenance. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.0 (2015-2020) holder. PCGS #4596.
