Gem $1125 New April 16! Sesquicentennial of American Independence, Gem Original, Evergreen State Collection. The 1926 Sesquicentennial issue was strike with very low relief dies causing shallow motifs including a "dished" reverse presentation. The shallow presentation of Presidents Calvin Coolidge and George Washington are quite susceptible to wear and ticks. This example is one of the nicer specimens seen essentially unabraded portraits and with soft steely luster that is consistent on both sides. A speckled golden patina partially coats the obverse while fully overlaid across the reverse. Worthy of consideration for an advanced silver commemorative collection. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.1 (2020-2025) holder.
