 Choice $1000 New September 2! Low Mintage Issue, Choice Original, Saw Mill Run Collection. Mid-grade 1888 pieces are difficult to find in choice condition, with just 10 approved by CAC across all circulation grades. This is an attractive grey example with a splash of light charcoal patina across the obverse. The reverse is more evenly shaded. Surfaces quality is consistent with the technical grade, with a few lines noted inside of stars 10-11. The CAC population is 34 pieces, with 24 at the MS levels. Housed in a PCGS Gen 6.0 (2015-2020) holder with CAC approval. Previously from the Tenafly Collection and sold via GFRC auction August 2021. PCGS #5520.
