Gem $3750 New July 28! Near Perfect Superb Gem, Glowing Frosted Luster, CAC Approved. This 1898 quarter eagle is so close to perfection with its MS66+ certification and CAC green bean, and would be an ideal candidate for a high end U.S. gold type set. Glowing frosted luster is readily evident under a bright light with vibrant cartwheels. The surfaces are pristine with no contact marks or any other types of visual transactions under a 10x. There is a lint mark thread, as made, below Liberty's chin that should not be considered part of the technical grades, but I suspect this is the basis for not securing a full MS67 certification. Strike is fully executed. The CAC price guide is $3300 at the MS66 level with a jump to $5750 in MS67. Alternately, the PCGS price guide for MS66+ is $4250. Housed in a PCGS Gen 6.0 (2015-2020) holder with CAC approval.
