What a nice surprise in finding a late die state 1854 Briggs 1-A example in the newest Evergreen State consignment. This is a nicest frosted choice survivor with extensive die cracks throughout the obverse and reverse. The Briggs 1-A die pairing is easily identified by the weak date digits and pointed flag on the 1 digit along with a weak base as the result of heavy die polishing. Light gold patina is heavier on the reverse. Fans of Liberty Seated quarter die varieties should jump on this example for its premium quality and late die state diagnostics. Housed in a PCGS Gen 3.0 (1990-1993) old green holder.
