First Year Issue, Rare Choice Original, Gray Crust, Important Opportunity. 1855 San Francisco struck quarters are typically encountered with various degrees of problems due to be well circulated and mishandled in western frontier mining communities. The arrival of a truly problem free example to the GFRC price list is a big deal as is the case here. Moderate gray patina decorates the fields with lighter shades at the wear points resulting in a circulated cameo visual appearance. A thin layer of dirt surrounds the stars and fills the spaces within the legend lettering. I'm most comfortable with the certified grade as Liberty's leg is rounded and not worn through. Fields are essentially unabraded too. This choice survivor is worthy of a JUST BUY IT NOW recommendation. There is no background on a CAC approval attempt but this lot is a candidate from a strict originality perspective. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.1 (2020-2024) holder.
