Low Mintage Issue, Scarce Grade, Choice Original Frosty Surfaces, Rich Orange-Gold Patina. Only 92,500 St. Gaudens were struck at the Philadelphia mint during 1914. This date becomes challenging at the MS63 grade level and very scarce in MS64 as most pieces are tied up in collections. A conservatively graded old time example with frosty textured surfaces that emit uniform luster along with vibrant cartwheels. I love the rich orange-gold patina. A quick check of Collectors Corner for competitive pricing resulted in a freshly graded MS64 CAC example listed at $6250. The GFRC asking price is substantially lower for an early graded example in an old green holder. Housed in PCGS Gen 3.0 (1990-1993) old green holder with CAC approval. A fresh offering from a new consignor that warrants special consideration. December 1969
