An absolutely original 1887 proof dime with watery mirrored fields. As in the case with most proof Seated dime, bright light viewing is required to release the natural coloring and reflective mirrors. In the case of this 1887 specimen, a light source exposes subtle sky blue and light gold on the obverse. These same colors are more pronounced on the reverse and quite attractive. A 10x loupe inspection revealed several die polish lines on the reverse that should not be mistaken for hairlines. Accurately graded and off the market for several decades.
