$1375 		Rare Date When Choice, Few CAC Approvaed Examples Known, Natural Gray Surfaces, Accurately Graded, Tenafly Collection. 1859 San Francisco strikes are most difficult to locate with choice surfaces given a mintage of only 60,000 and low survival rate. Most seen will have problems of some sort. GFRC is pleased to be offering this choice original example that is accurately graded and approved by CAC. Uniform gray-brown toning covers both obverse and reverse with no blemishes at the VF25 grade level. I was curious about the number of 1859-S dimes that have been certified and visited the CAC population reports. My experience with this date rang true. Only 11 example in all grades have been approved. Three VF25 examples are approved with only five better. An important offering from the amazing Tenafly Collectio for fans of strict originality.
