 Gem $985 Repunched 889, Gem Original, Golden-Aquamarine Patina, Brilliant Frosty Luster, Vibrant Cartwheels, Well Struck, Accurately Graded, Gerry Fortin Reference Collection. A difficult 1889 Philadelphia die variety with repunching inside the lower loops of 88 and above the tail of the 9 digit. First listed by Fortin. This offering has to be one of the finest examples extant as I've seen few in my collecting career. Gem original surfaces are covered with semi-transparent golden-aquamarine patina. Frosty luster is brilliant with bold cartwheels during bright light viewing. The F-110 plate coin at The Definitive Resource for Liberty Seated Dime Variety Collectors. Housed in old NGC holder with standard ring insert. Purchased April 2003 and in the Fortin collection since that time.
