Obverse Diagnostic Point(s)

        

Comments: A late die state for Obverse 4 that exhibits severe die cracks. The die crack formation is pie shaped and similar to later die states of 1837 Large Date Obverse 1. The first die crack runs from the rim, up into lower shield. A second from LIB(E)RTY in scroll to Liberty's draped hair. A third die crack goes from rim, through the foot and along right leg and intersecting the second die crack at right top of shield.
