Obverse Diagnostic Point(s)

Comments: A rare repunched date variety that is infrequently encountered. Obverse 3 shows both a repunched date on all four digits and a misplaced date punch in the rock to the right of the scroll end. This variety was discovered by John McCloskey and was first published in the Gobrecht Journal in March of 1992. Also listed as MPD-001 in the Kevin Flynn "Two Dates Are Better Than One" misplaced date reference book.
