Comments: Obverse 8 presents another repunched date. Both the 8 and 9 digits show repunching to the right of the final digits. The repunching on the right side of the lower tail of the 9 digit is nearly identical to the repunched "tail" found on Variety 114. Check date position and slope to separate repunched 9 Varieties 111 and 114. Ahwash states that the Reverse K Medium O is repunched over an O that was punched over an S mintmark. To further analyze his claim, I followed the same process of mintmark comparisons that was presented for Variety 106. After performing overlays of 1891 Medium and Small S mintmarks over the Reverse K Medium O, I found the best overlay by inverting the Small S by 180 degrees, then performing the overlay. Rotating the Small S by 180 degrees was necessary to match the flatness of the middle segment of the Small S to the flat upper artifact line in the Medium O mintmark. See the markers below to aid with this comparison.
