My seated dime purchases are judged against three important criteria; eye appeal, original surfaces and full strikes including a full head. Seated dimes that meet these combined attributes provide the best value for the money including being the easiest to resell when upgrading a collection. I suggest that you consider these criteria when contemplating a purchase with any dealer.

Email me if you do not see a date or variety that you are looking for. There are many other duplicates that I just do not have time to list. Some of these coins have put away since the late 1980s. As my attention has shifted to PCGS and NGC Registry set upgrading, it is time to start "placing" these duplicate dime with serious Seated collectors. As a collector, cash flow is an imperative to maintain the rate of new additions to the web-book effort.

Slight rub on the knee keeps this dime from much higher grade but eye appeal is excellent. Formerly in the Tim Cook collection and current web-book plate coin.
	1839	NGC AU 55	$365	F-105, Early Die State of Pie Shaped Shattered Reverse. A lovely No Drapery example with original surfaces sporting medium bronze, gold and excellent eye appeal with prooflike surfaces. Light gray and gold toning on obverse while reverse has more gray and light blues. This is a nice example of the variety but there are some marks under the toning so please check the images carefully.
	1840 ND	NGC MS 62	$525	F-104, Downward sloping date, many of these coin with prooflike appearance and delicate design features. This dime is untoned with nice soft luster.
	1842-O	VG 8	$17	New! F-102a, Shattered Reverse #2, a Top 100 Variety for budget collector, even medium gray and nice example of variety
	1842-O	F 12	Hold $40	New! F-103, Shattered Reverse #1, Reverse of 1841-O (D), a Top 100 Variety and light grey with reverse exhibits all of the key diagnostics including the die crack from rim into UN(I)TED
	1843-O	AU 55 Details	$2750	Web-book plate coin until a kind collector allowed usage of images from mint state example. This 1843-O dime has AU55 details but check and see that there are two lines in the right field between Liberty and Stars 9 through 13. Both the obverse and reverse are boldly struck and better than my PCGS AU53 example and the current web-book plate coin. This coin is another typical 1843-O with a slight problem but still very rare and would be a good candidate for someone building a circulated set. I recognize the asking price is high, but this date will continue to appreciate as people understand its true rarity in AU or better.
	1844	PCGS AU 53	$2350	New! F-102, Former PCGS registry set entry for 1844 date. Images are from scanner and do not appropriately represent the dime as the obverse is not as blue as shown. 1844 dime is full AU with light silver/gray coloring. Recently upgraded with PCGS AU58 example so this dime must sell for cash flow.
	1845	MS 62	$525	F-103, Repunched 45 and triple punched 5; a Top 100 variety. I bought this dime from Heritage FUN 2000 auction in a two coin lot #5156. The 1856 Large Date dime in the lot recently certified PCGS62 and is part of the registry set. I would expect the 1845 dime to certify at MS62 or better given same type of original surfaces and milky light toning.
	1845-O	EF 40	$1150	F-101, A gem circulated 1845-O dime from the Bob Levi collection and purchased about 1990. Even silver/gray on obverse and reverse. It will be difficult to find a better example for the grade for a circulated set. I must point out there are a few very minor marks in the right central field but not inconsistent with the grade.

	1857-O	ANACS AU 58	$350	New! F-105, Large Thin O variety. A fully struck example that is toned a chocolate brown throughout with subtle luster peeking through the toning. ANACS holder is first generation small holder. The top of images are light due to the dime being at an angle in the ANACS holder causing this effect.
	1857-O	AU 50	$135	New! F-107, Medium O variety. An example purchased in 1988 with excellent eye appeal. Strong strike and lovely silver rose centers turning into blues at the rims. Old cleaning under the toning.
	1867-S	EF 45	$800	New! F-101, Original example with light brown/gray toning but some strike weakness at Liberty's head. Still a superior example for an EF/AU business strike set. Purchased from Brian Greer during 1991.
	1868	EF 40	$95	New! F-104a, Business strike example from proof dies. Strong needle like strike and even gray/brown toning. This is one of the dimes from the Hungary hoard whereby I purchased a roll for variety analysis in 1994. As presented at Baltimore LSCC regional meeting, 1868 dimes are presently under valued.
	1869	VF 35	$125	F-103, Short Flag 1, all there for the grade with medium rose/blue toning. A hidden mark is evident in right field into (AM)ERICA. Overall, a nice Short Flag example for the variety collector.
	1870	MS63	Hold $425	New! F-104, Repunched date and Top 100 variety. Repunching is most obvious on the 8 and 0 digits. Current web-book plate coin. Dime is very well struck and nicely toned. The image is from old scanner and has over emphasis on blue color. Purchased as MS63 in Coin Galleries Sale April 15, 1998. New digital images to be added once returning from China business trip.

	1891-O	MS Details	$25	New! F-106a, Repunched 89, Heavily Clashed Dies and Medium O/O, a Top 100 Variety for the budget collector. This dime has mint state details but obvious problems. The reverse is colored bronze while obverse is covered with more natural toning. There is a strike through defect on (1)891. All F-106a diagnostics are quite obvious and the reverse is in a very late die state with cracks in the wreath.
	1891-O	EF 45+	$80	F-102, Heavy die clashing on obverse but not as extensive as the Ahwash 1 plate coin. This is the web-book plate coin and closer to AU grade and original. This is a cool coin but I found a better example in the recent Heritage Houston auction (PCGS63). Don't let this one get away......
