Collecting the Carson City dates within a complete Liberty Seated Dime set is always the major challenge for completing the set. Availability of the tough 1871-CC through 1874-CC key dates has improved recently with significant pricing increases bringing out additional examples. However, collectors typically struggle with ever escalating prices and with difficulties in finding original circulated examples that are not corroded or have not been cleaned or "restored" via artificial toning. The latter point requires special attention even for Carson City dimes in the leading TPG holders. Many times, net graded coins are the only option for completing a Seated Dime set. In a stark contrast to the 1871-CC through 1874-CC dates, the later 1875-CC through 1878-CC dates are readily available, with the 1878-CC date being a bit more challenging.

This Carson City Date set registry is an opportunity for each registry participants to highlight the key dates of their prized Seated Dime collections.

Definitions

% Completion: Number of coin entries divided by total entries requirement to complete a set; for Carson City Date Set, 9 entries are required for a 100% completion.

Set Weighted Grade: The grade of each coin is multiplied by the "rarity factor", then summed and divided by the total of the "rarity factors" for those coin entries in the set.

Set Rating: The grade of each coin is mutiplied by the "rarity factor", then summed and divided by the total of all "rarity factors" for a completed set.

Rarity Factor: The rarity assessment for each date or variety in EF-AU grades as per the estimates at www.seateddimevarieties.com.
