AU58 Seated 50C NGC 1517025005
Ultimate #145 WB-3, Choice Original, Newtown Collection Steely, medium plum surfaces reveal original Mint bloom at the periphery, while the nicely-impressed central figures are somewhat lighter. Stars centers are evident and the individual claw joints are separated. The WB-1 variety exhibits a date style descending to the right, while the large S-mintmark is centered below the junction of the arrow fletching and olive branch, with die lines appearing in the dentils above (AMERI)CA. Early San Francisco Mint production of Seated halves was lower than that of their Philadelphia and New Orleans counterparts, as more attention was given to processing the incoming flow of new gold discoveries, making this the most desirable issue among 1858 emissions. The overall appearance is wholesome - this is a pleasing, original coin worthy of the GFRC "Choice" rating. Housed in an NGC Gen 17 (2004-2008) holder.
