Ultimate #282 WB-15, Original, Newtown Collection The Carson City Mint was busy in 1876, coining nearly two million half dollars, and the Bugert reference documents no less than 36 different die marriages. The WB-15 variety exhibits a circular crack around the obverse periphery, as well as a die lump between U and S in the scroll. Patination is a uniform deep blue and gray, with lighter high points. This piece has retoned following an old cleaning, but the overall quality is still within the PCGS standard. Strike is typical with a few star points evident, while the reverse is softly impressed beneath the shield. Housed in a PCGS Gen 6.0 (2015-2020) holder.
