Ultimate #117 WB-103, Misplaced Digits, Original, Newtown Collection Silver patina is a decorated by smoky grey highlights throughout the obverse, while the eagle is accompanied by scattered charcoal shading in the surrounding fields. The lightly mirrored fields exhibit marks to the right of Liberty and above the eagle's left wing. Traces of two misplaced digits in the rock, above the 7, identify the WB-103 variety. This piece further exhibits slight rotation, not a surprise for a high-mintage issue. Most stars are flat while the reverse strike is better, revealing a number of distinct claw joints. Although not rare, this offering is a well-detailed example of the No Motto type half dollar struck from 1839 to 1866. Housed in a PCGS Gen 6.0 (2015-2020) holder.
