Choice $1550 Near Gem Original, Steely Cartwheel Luster, Multi-Color Patina, Completely Struck, Accurately Graded, Cumberland Country Collection. Letís open the description for this near gem original 1877 Trade dollar with a JUST BUY IT NOW recommendation. I'm in love with this offering from the Cumberland County Collection and believe the future owner will also be pleased to have stepped up and made the purchase. This dollar has eye appeal of a higher grade and only one well hidden surface issue that holds the grade back to MS62. At first, I thought this piece was full MS63 due to the vibrant steely cartwheel luster and strictly original toning on both sides. Toning colors are gorgeous. Strike is also complete. In terms of blemishes, there are several ancient toned over shallow lines between the right facing wing and AM(ERICA). If one swirls the coin enough times under a bright light, those lines will appear resulting in the MS62 being technical accurate. Again eye appeal is of a higher grade. Housed in 2015 style PCGS holder with CAC approval. CAC approval rewards all the positive aspects of this coin as discussed here.
