Gem Original, Frosty Cartwheel Luster, Light Rose Obverse Toning, Accurately Graded, So Attractive. A gem original 1856 New Orleans strike with eye appeal consistent with a higher grade. This Seated half dollar walked up to my FUN show table and was immediately purchased upon first inspection. Now the GFRC community has an upgrade possibility for their Open Registry sets. Frosty cartwheel luster is the highlight along with a strong strike. The luster is quite vibrant and stunning and more consistent with MS65/MS66 grade level. However, PCGS grading is accurate due to some wispy hairlines in the right field that require a 10x loupe and bright light to see. The golden patina is transparent, allowing viewing access to the frosty fields and devices. Housed in 2015 style PCGS holder with CAC approval. This half definitely deserves special consideration by those seeking to build a superior date and mintmark set. December 1969
