Original, Very Scarce Grade Level, Gun Metal Gray Patina, Hammered Strike, Underrated. . GFRC has the pleasure of handling an 1845 New Orleans dime graded PCGS AU50 for a second time. This example has an exceptional strike with bold head and hair curls, star centrils and lower body definition on the obverse while the reverse offers full wreath leaves. Secondly, this piece has natural gun metal gray patina that is uniform and just a tad deeper on the reverse. The coloring is very consistent in hand and under bright light. GFRC images are accurate for one of the finer examples to come to market. Housed in new PCGS Gen 6.0 holder with D.L.Hansen pedigree label. Please remember the scarcity of 1845-O dimes in AU50 or better...(8) AU50, (2) AU53, (1) AU55, (1) AU58 and now three in Mint State. I known the location of at least four other AU50s and the AU55 (Gerry Fortin Collection Pittman Gold CAC). December 1969
