Choice HOLD
New June 18! Very Scarce Circulated Survivor, Choice Original Surface, Uniform Light Gray, New England Collection. 1865 brought the end to the American Civil War. However, Philadelphia struck 1865 Seated dollar did not reach circulation as specie payment was in suspension. Instead, most of the 46,500 struck were exported to Central and South America. Few circulation strikes have survived to the present day leading to current rarity. I'm impressed with the well preserved surfaces on this EF45 graded example. A natural light gray skin is consistent on both sides. This skin is the hallmark of strict originality, a fact to serious consider when examining this New England Collection offering for potential purchase. This piece deserves a Choice quality rating for surface condition and minimal abrasions. Housed in PCGS Gen 4.6 (2013-2014) holder. Hurry on this one!
