Type 1 Reverse
Choice $1425 Type 1 Reverse, Die Scratch Through Neck, Near Gem Orignal Surfaces, Huge Frosty Cartwheel Luster, Golden Patina, Fully Struck, Accurately Graded, Gerry Fortin Reference Collection. The 1877-CC Type 1 Reverse F-106 die pairing offers many die diagnostics and is straigthforward to attributed. The most obvious diagnostic is a long diagonal die scratch that starts above Liberty's facing left breast and ends under her ear. The top loop of an 8 digit has been misplaced in the base, slightly to the left of the pendant. On this Type I reverse, die doubling within the denomination is significant and is obviously at O(NE) D(IME). This near gem original specimen is fully strike and had huge cartwheel luster under a light source. Both sides are covered with light gold patina. Old time quality that is accurately graded to old time standards. Housed in old PCGS holder with standard ring insert that dates back to the late 1990 along with CAC approval. The 1877-CC Type 1 F-107 plate coin at The Definitive Resource for Liberty Seated Dime Variety Collectors and from the Gerry Fortin Reference Collection.
