Choice $10000 Rare Mint State Grade, Glowing Satiny Luster, Golden Gray Patina, CAC Approval, Gerry Fortin Reference Collection. A special GFRC offering as Mint State 1840-O Liberty Seated dimes infrequently come to market. This F-108 web-book plate coin (The Definitive Resource for Liberty Seated Dime Variety Collectors) is absolutely choice with glowing satiny luster and swirling cartwheels. Coloring is a light golden-gray with elevated gold shades at the peripheries. Struck from an eroded die pair and carefully preserved for close to two centuries. CAC has approved six at the MS62 grade, the last "affordable" level as the date's premium quickly expands in higher Mint State grades. The F-108 obverse comes fairly well struck, but will exhibit die erosion around the stars. The reverse is also well struck with a nicely centered Small O mintmark. On the offered example, the reverse die exhibits erosion and die cracks from the rim to AM(ERIC)A. Housed in NGC Gen 7 (1997-2000) holder with CAC approval.
