Gem $15500 Gem Original, Natural Olive-Rose Gray, Steely Luster, Osprey Collection. The 1860 Liberty Seated dollar date is believed to have been intended primarily for use in the export trade to China. Despite the relatively high 217,000 mintage, worn examples are quite scarce in today's market with Mint State survivors being very scarce. The Osprey Collection is back from the Summer FUN show with a marvelous 1860 gem to consider. Fields offer a crisp steely texture along with glowing reflective luster under a bright light. Coloring is an olive-rose gray with peripheral blues and aquamarine. In hand inspection is necessary to fully appreciate luster and overall eye appeal. Strike is hammered. There is an ancient line on Liberty's mid-section that precludes an MS65 grade per technical standards, but eye appeal is there. CAC approval validates the quality. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.1 (2020-2021) holder with CAC approval.
