$2350 		Superb Eye Appeal, Steely Fields, Honey Green-Gold, Choice Surfaces, Low CAC Population. Mintage for 1871 Philadelphia $2.5 gold amounted to only 5,320 strike. Many will be found with varying mirrors. This example offers fields that fall into the steely realm with some reflectively under a bright light. The coloration is an expected green-gold. Strike is 100% complete with fully detailed stars, hair curls, and reverse motifs. A few wispy lines are seen are both sides both none of any consequence. The CAC census presently stands at 15 with none certified at CACG. The population report indicates three at the AU58 level followed by three in "62" at triple the premium. Given the low availability when this choice, we have priced this lot at the CDN CAC MS60 guide level. Worthy of special consideration. Housed in NGC 25 (2008) holder with CAC approval. December 1969
