 Gem $3350 Condition Census Repunched Mintmark Offering, Gem Original, Cumberland County Collection.. A superbly original 1916-D example that was added to the "CCC" due to its repunched mintmark and listing in the Cherrypickers guide. This example is yet another luster play with granular frosted radiance that is framed by copper-gold at the peripheries. Strike is close to complete with a full head and thumb. The upper vertical skirt lines are weak, but so typical of this design era. PCGS has certified 19 FS-301 examples in all Mint State grade with only 4 at this grade level and none finer. This example is the finest approved at CAC. A top pop and conditional census offering that warrants a strong bid. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.1 (2020-2024) holder with CAC approval.
