The 1882 Seated half dollar offers a mintage that is the lowest of the 1879-1890 period and tied with the 1884 at 4,400 piece. This date is much less available in circulated grades than its Mint State counterparts. This John McCloskey pedigreed example exhibits mirrored fields under a bright light regardless of the typical coin gray in-hand presentation per the images. In particular, the obverse rose-blue hues are quite attractive once the darker gray shades melt away. Strike is typical with essentially unabraded surfaces.
