$1550 		New January 25! Little Orphan Annie, Very Scarce EF45 or Better, Steely Golden Fields, Well Struck, Evergreen State Collection. GFRC welcomes another Little Orphan Annie 1844 dime to the price list and what a solid example it is. Yes, the Terry Brand hoard brought together hundreds of survivors, but truly premium examples remain tough in choice EF and certainly in AU. For example, the Gerry Fortin Collection specimen, a PCGS AU58 CAC certified example realized $6000 during a January 2025 auction. This lot offers steely gold fields with aquamarine overtones, with the originality being self evident to a trained eye. For those without "the eye", the CAC green bean provides ample insurance. The CAC census stands at 69 with a heavy skew to the lower circulated grades. At the EF45 grade, 7 are approved with nine finer. This lot is quite pleasing and is recommended for the selective collector. December 1969
