$2350 		Iridescent Rainbow Toning, Partially Mirrored Fields, Gorgeous Bright Light Colors . A portion of the Liberty Seated coinage population, especially proofs, will be found darker natural toning. These pieces typically "light up" when placed under a bright light as is the case for this near-gem 1861 Seated half. In hand inspection is consistent with my images. However, just tiliting this piece into lighting changes the visual dynamics. The fields have mirror reflectance that exposes all rainbow hues. The obverse has the classic ring pattern with progress rose, aquamarine, blue, and gold progression to the rims. The reverse toning is quite similar with a bit more center rose. I like to describe this type of toning as "iridenscent" due to the sparking intertction with the colors. Strike is complete with unabraded fields. Great for type. Housed in PCGS Gen 4.6 (2013-2014) holder.
