 Choice $350 Early Die State, Choice Original, Natural Coin Gray, LaSalle Collection. The 1860-O issue is accessible in all grades through AU given its mintage of 388,000, though not "common". Briggs 1-A specimens will be found with early and later die states whereby the obverse was heavily polished resulting in weak or missing denticles from 4:00 to 8:00. This example was struck prior to the die maintenance event as the obverse denticles are nicely raised and bold. Natural coin gray patina coats both sides with an ebony toning streak on the obverse. The struck is well executed from the new Type II/II design hubs. Housed in new NGC holder with special John McCloskey Collection pedigree holder.
