 Choice $1600 Very Scarce in All Grades, Natural Coin Gray, Choice Surfaces, Lasalle Collection. 1867 San Francisco quarter strikes are scarce in all grades and become rare in VF or better. Mintage was limited to 48,000 pieces using a leftover reverse die of 1866-S. As a result, reverse strikes tend to be weak for the issue, though obverse strikes are not much better. This LaSalle Collection example exhibits moderate wear with a natural coin gray patina. Darker gray shades outline the reverse motifs. Surfaces have a few scattered micro marks that are certain consistent with the grade level. A potential addition to a date and mintmark set collection that is a more than satisfactory representative of the date. Housed in a PCGS Gen 4.4 (2005-2011) holder.
