 Choice $700 Low Mintage Date, Partially Mirrored, Peripheral Gold, Choice Surfaces, LaSalle Collection. 1879 ushered a long period of low mintage Liberty Seated quarters and halves. The U.S. mint had produced substantial quantities of subsidiary coinage from 1875 through 1877 that large volumes were not longer warranted. Mintage for the 1879 date shrunk to 13,600 with many survivors being partially mirrored. This is the situation for this Twin Lakes duplicate. Both sides offer sharp reflective luster with the surfaces being ever so lightly frosted to hold back a Proof Like designation. Strike is complete with a few hairlines in the right obverse field. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.0 (2015-2020) holder.
