Yet another low-mintage example from the White Pine consignor, the 1870 half eagle was produced to the extent of only 4,000 pieces. This coin reveals reddish-copper patina surrounding the central devices, while the steely fields and central figures exhibit uniform, warm gold color. CAC has certified ten pieces total, with this coin representing the lowest example reported. Our reserve is above the CAC price guide ($1,300), at a level commensurate with the rarity of this issue .
